As a result of exercise there is a build up of waste products in the muscles that have been working. Sports massage helps to reduce the amount of waste products in the muscles. It also aids in reducing muscle soreness after a hard event or session in the gym.
In between sports-
At this stage the massage will focus on any tight areas in the muscles. The goal is to promote healing of the tissues and to rid the body of waste products. This type of massage is generally done at a deeper depth.
